How to Claim Your PRSI Grant

In 2022 The Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys announced a new grant of up to €500 towards the cost of a hairpiece, wig or hair replacement for people who suffer hair loss due to illness.

We Check Your Eligibility

We’ll confirm if you or your partner qualify under the Treatment Benefit Scheme.

Receive Your Application Form

Once eligibility is confirmed, we’ll send you the form by email or WhatsApp — whichever suits you best.

Get the Form Signed

Bring the form to your GP or medical consultant. They’ll:

  • Sign it
  • Tick one of the qualifying medical conditions (e.g., alopecia, cancer treatment, etc.)

Send It Back to Us

Return the completed form to Escape.

We’ll upload it to the Department of Social Protection for approval — taking care of all paperwork on your behalf.

What Happens Next?

Once the application is approved, the €500 grant will be paid directly to Escape Hair Loss (trading as Lucca Salon Ltd). You don’t need to pay upfront — we’ll handle everything behind the scenes.

Processing Time: Approval typically takes up to 3 weeks.

Additional Support – €700 HSE Chemotherapy Grant

If you are currently undergoing chemotherapy, you are automatically entitled to an additional €700 grant from the HSE.

This can be used alongside the PRSI benefit to further support your hair loss solution at Escape.
